David writes for MyLocal News....The issue of school places is a familiar one to this column.
After a busy year so far, the summer recess comes as a welcome slow-down for most MPs.
There is much I could cover since my last article.
The perils of having a gap between deadlines and publication is that what you write for an issue can seem somewhat out-of-date by the time of publication.
As this column is called ‘House Notes’, it is only fair to point out that house matters have not been far from my mind for the past month.
After much delay, it has been confirmed that Croxley Danes School will be accepting pupils from September 2017.
There is always a risk in writing a column that, by the time readers get to see it, the article is already out of date.
With the local elections out the way, the political world has moved on to the next election. This time it will be the EU In/Out referendum on 23 June.
The past month has been an exceptionally busy time in Westminster with tax – my Ministerial responsibility – never far from the headlines.
By the time you read this, Parliament will be approaching recess and the summer break.
